Packing

It's strange when you have to leave a place you love.  I started packing today, really packing, and the apartment doesn't feel the same now.  All my hats and coats and scarves are off the hall tree, my closet, although still well-stocked, seems bare, my knickknacks (I don't like this word with two k's) and books are all gone from the shelves, as are my CDs that I bought here.

I had to get another suitcase.  I collect and send home suitcases instead of postcards.

I will miss it here.

I had a dream last night I was holding Cookie.  That will be nice.

Tonight I went to a friend's house that lives just outside of Paris.  We had a cookout and drank champagne.  It was lovely and relaxing.  It is hot here now, so the night was perfect.  And I have two more friends coming now to my going away party Tuesday.

I guess I better go to sleep.  It is quarter past one.  I have the windows wide open.  I will leave them like that.  It is so quiet in this apartment with the courtyard.
